Fat Grafting of the Breast

For women who prefer to use their own tissue, fat grafting (or fat transfer) can be used to increase their breast volume.

This technique uses liposuction to harvest excess fat from any parts of the body including abdomen, hips, thighs, back, or arms, which is then transferred to the breast to augment volume. This is commonly used in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. Moderate volumes of fat can be transferred to the breast. The body reabsorbs a small fraction of the injected fat, but the majority remains providing a permanent improvement. Fat grafting of the breast can be repeated multiple times to add additional volume based on the patient’s goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Fat Grafting of the Breast?: Fat grafting of the breast, also known as autologous fat transfer, is a procedure where fat is harvested from one part of the body (usually through liposuction), processed, and then injected into the breasts to enhance their size and shape.

How long do the results of Fat Grafting of the Breast last?: The longevity of the results can vary from person to person. However, some of the fat that is transferred may be reabsorbed by the body over time. Generally, a portion of the transferred fat remains permanently, providing long-lasting results.
