Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

BREAST LIFT (Mastopexy)

Elevate and Reshape for a Youthful Contour

Breast Lift, also known as a mastopexy, elevates and reshapes the breast into a perkier, youthful appearance by removing excess skin and elevating the nipple and areolar complex.

A mastopexy is the perfect option for a woman with breasts that have begun to sag or deflate due to aging, weight loss, or pregnancy. Mastopexy and breast reductions use similar incisions, including the circumvertical (lollipop) or the Wise pattern (anchor) design.

Your mastopexy should elevate the position of the nipple and areola just like during a breast reduction. However, during the mastopexy, no excess breast tissue is removed, but rather includes removal of excess skin, reduce the areola size, or an auto-augmentation, where breast tissue is rearranged to enhance projection.

The mastopexy may be combined with other options to enhance projection and cleavage, (Breast Augmentation with a Lift), by placing an implant or transferring fat to the breast.

Types of Procedure

Periareolar mastopexy

An incision around the areola is used to give to improve nipple position and provide small lift.

ircumvertical mastopexy

This approach is performed through a “lollipop” incision around the areola and into the lower breast to provide a lift and improve ptosis.

Wise pattern mastopexy

This technique is performed through an anchor-shaped incision Mastopexy with auto-augmentation: To improve shape and project of the breast, redundant breast tissue is rearranged into a position behind the nipple and areola.
