At Specialized Plastic Surgery, Breast Cancer Awareness Month isn’t just about wearing pink – it’s a meaningful reminder of the work we do every single day. Here in Westchester, NY, Dr. Chris Devulapalli and our dedicated team are committed to providing advanced reconstruction options, empowering patients through every step of their breast cancer journey.
This October, we were proud to celebrate survivors, support patients currently in treatment, and help raise funds and awareness for the future of breast cancer care through education, community outreach, and shared moments of joy.
Throughout the month, we showed our appreciation for our breast cancer patients with special treats, goodies, and thoughtful touches during their visits. The goal was simple: to make every appointment feel a little brighter – because they deserve moments of celebration during even the toughest chapters.
Our Westchester office is more than a surgical practice – it’s a place where patients heal, connect, and feel cared for. Breast cancer doesn’t pause on October 31st, and neither does our support.
To continue bringing state-of-the-art reconstruction and expert care to our community, Dr. Devulapalli attended this year’s Updates in Breast Cancer Management, a continuing medical education event hosted by White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care. Presentations by a multi-disciplinary panel of experts focused on screening, early diagnosis, clinical trials, advances in disease management, and survivorship.
Dr. Devulapalli’s commitment to ongoing education ensures that patients in Westchester benefit from the most advanced options available, including natural tissue (DIEP flap) breast reconstruction and modern implant-based breast reconstruction.
One of the highlights of our month was joining the 32nd annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Westchester walk. Team Specialized Plastic Surgery walked proudly – raising funds for lifesaving breast cancer research and celebrating those who inspire our work.
Being part of this community event allows us to honor survivors while pushing towards a future with better outcomes and fewer lives changed by cancer.
As Dr. Devulapalli shared on Instagram this month:
“Another month, same mission! 💪
For me, October isn’t “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” — it’s just another month on the job. The truth is, we’re aware of breast cancer every single day of the year.
For the past 15 years — from plastic surgery residency to microsurgery fellowship — I’ve dedicated my life to learning and mastering advanced breast reconstruction techniques. I’ve built my practice around delivering state-of-the-art care to help breast cancer patients restore form, function, and a sense of self… and ultimately, help them kick their cancer’s ass!
So yes, it’s another October — but the mission stays the same.”
Breast Reconstruction isn’t just about rebuilding a breast – it’s about rebuilding confidence, identity, and hope. And here in Westchester, we are honoured to be part of that healing process year-round.
If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is exploring reconstruction options, our team is here to guide you with compassion, expertise, and personalized care. We proudly serve patients throughout Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, New York City, and beyond.
