ABOUT DR. SOSIN

Dr. Michael Sosin is a double board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in a wide range of reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. Distinguished as a Castle Connelly’s Top Doctor and featured in other magazines, Dr. Sosin is especially recognized for his contributions to breast cancer and women’s health, focusing on individualistic approaches to enhance and restore patients’ appearances. His experience and focus lies in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures of the face (rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, facelift), breast reconstruction (DIEP flap), aesthetic lifting/reshaping of the breast (mastopexy, reduction, augmentation), and body contouring/liposculpting of the arms (brachioplasty) and abdomen (abdominoplasty). Dr. Sosin espouses and emphasizes an individualized approach when assessing patients’ needs and goals. His extensive training has enabled him to adopt and refine the latest surgical techniques to allow for predictable results and a rapid recovery.

After completing a highly competitive accelerated 7-year BA/MD program at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Dr. Sosin then trained at some of the world’s most renowned institutions including: Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, Johns Hopkins University and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD, and NYU Langone Health in New York City, one of the nation’s top plastic surgery programs. Dr. Sosin’s breadth of training included all facets of facial aesthetic surgery, complex reconstruction of the face and extremities, microsurgery of the breast, and post bariatric contouring, amongst other specialized plastic surgery by international experts in the field. He was also a primary team member of the face transplant team who performed the first successful face transplant in New York State.

Dr. Sosin is recognized for his prolific contribution to plastic surgery and his impact on education and advancing the field. Having authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications and 8 book chapters, Dr. Sosin has been invited to speak at numerous national and international meetings. He has received multiple awards for resident and student teaching, received multiple Best Clinical Paper awards by the field’s leading journals, and received a prestigious travel grant by the American College of Surgeons for his work in microsurgery reconstruction.

Dr. Sosin believes in a patient-first approach, which integrates the patient’s goals and desires while combining aesthetic artistry with a meticulous surgical skillset to achieve optimal results.
